The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board, together with its co-organisers the Hong Kong Shipowners Association and the Hong Kong Maritime Museum and its partners Hong Kong Trade Development Council and InvestHK, will organise the third Hong Kong Maritime Week from 18 to 24 November 2018 to “Propel Hong Kong” as a renowned international maritime centre. Through an intensive week of maritime activities, we hope to unite and showcase the Hong Kong maritime industry as a strong cluster, raise the community’s awareness of the economic contributions of Hong Kong’s maritime and port industries, and promote Hong Kong as a preferred base for operating maritime business. International and local industry luminaries and practitioners will come together to participate in a myriad of diversified and fun-filled activities ranging from conferences and seminars, industry briefings, corporate functions, networking events to maritime-themed sports, school workshops and family fun days.

Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board
The Hong Kong Maritime and Port Board was established on April 1, 2016. The Board provides a high-level platform for the Government to work with the industry with a view to setting the direction for the long-term development of Hong Kong's port and maritime services, fostering the development of maritime manpower and devising promotion strategies and initiatives to enhance Hong Kong's status as an international maritime centre. The industry is widely represented in the Board with Members from industry sectors, academia and industry bodies, enabling close communication and collaboration between the Government and the industry. Hong Kong Shipowners Association
The Hong Kong Shipowners Association was incorporated in 1957 by 11 local shipowners with the purpose of creating a forum for shipowners resident in Hong Kong. Over the past 60 years, the Association has grown into one of the world’s largest shipowner associations. Its members own, manage and operate a fleet with a combined carrying capacity of over 178 million deadweight tonnes. The Association seeks to promote and protect members’ interests, augment Hong Kong as an international maritime centre and as China’s “super-connector”, actively participate in the global regulatory arena, and encourage engagement between the local shipping community and the general public. Hong Kong Maritime Museum
The Hong Kong Maritime Museum (HKMM) is part of a global network of maritime museums who share a commitment in helping the community of and visitors to Hong Kong explore the city’s unique maritime heritage. HKMM is an independent, non-profit registered charity supported by the shipping industry, the business community, private individuals and the Hong Kong SAR Government. HKMM is a cultural institution that tells the story of trade and maritime history in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta, and the vital roles ships and the sea play in our past, present and future. HKMM moved from Stanley to its current location at the Central Pier No. 8 in 2013, and is celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2018.
